Mediation is part a “light” alternative dispute resolution technique, in which a neutral person tries to help conflicting parties reach an agreed solution to a conflict.

Intellectual Property mediation is mediation that has to do with Intellectual Property related disputes, such as disputes surrounding patents, trademarks, designs, copyrights, etc.

Mediation has many benefits:

The first is avoiding the cost, lenght and insecurity of litigation.
Another benefit is that in mediation, the parties themselves have control over the consequenses of the procedure. They can agree if they are happy with the result, and choose to quit mediation at any time.

Hence, mediation is in fact riskless. A party can enter mediation, try reaching an agreed outcome, and if unsuccessful, leave it, without harm.

According to Israeli law, everything said during mediation is confidential and cannot be used in court.
